NEROCA FC defeated Gangtok Himalayan SC 1-0 in their 2nd Division I-League clash here at Paljor Stadium Gangtok.
Visiting side dominated the game from the very beginning and had their real close chance to take the lead when Mobin Rai ran down the left flank before making a cross inside the box and OI Josephs shot from a close range sailed over the bar in the 10th minute of the game. Four minutes later Joseph once again tested Avilash Paul who made a brilliant save to deny him the lead that he was looking for.
Home side Gangtok gradually took charge on the field. Nima Tamang made a brilliant move from the right whose cross was received by Sudesh Subba but Amamaba intercepted well to take the free shot.
Post half an hour mark NEROCAs Kishan made a brilliant move cutting past four GHSC defenders before firing in a powerful shot that was punched away by Paul.
At the end of first half both the team failed to break the deadlock.
NEROCA FC yet again began their attack from the very start off well with Jhonson creating the pressure early in the second half.
Gangtok Himalayan SC made a brilliant move with Sanjay Chettris cross that found Tenzing but his shot from inside the box hits his own team mate Nima and got deflected away from his target.
Home side kept their pressure on the visitors but failed to break the deadlock. Norbus shot before the end of 80 minute was brilliantly saved by Ashok Singh .
Ronald Singh broke the deadlock in the added minute of the second half when Emeka Christain cross fund the Manipuri in front of the open post who slide to get the ball into net.
