The Hills of Darjeeling has always been the trove of talents in all aspect and The Darjeeling Dynamo, a football club is a unit where best of football players always got attracted and one such unforgettable name in the history of Darjeeling Football is. Mr. Bhusan Gurung alias Iron Head (Falamey) had thrilled the audience with his talent in late 70´s and early 80´s every time took the field.
Born and brought up in Darjeeling Mr. Bhusan Gurung was inspired by his father and none other than Shri Chandan Singh Rawat. It was his passion for the game he says that enabled him to perform and play the way he did.
From his early childhood days when he played bare feet, he has had his moments of playing and reaching his heights playing the game he loved. Playing in the right Full back position he was a regular in his School team, Darjeeling District team and of course the Darjeeling Dynamo.

Flames, as known during his playing days, has played in the BSC Cup, Malla Shield, Herihly Cup, Jasoda Giri among the local tournaments and many tournaments in Nepal, Bhutan, and Sikkim. The Kalimpong Mela Ground somehow seems to be the favorite of many players from the early years till date as it attracts a huge crowd due to its central location and the passionate fans of football from the town.
Gurung´s best moments have been when the Darjeeling Dynamo was hired by the Kalimpong branch State Bank of India and they beat the Bhutan XI by a solitary goal which was scored by him.
The players from that era played for the love of the game and the passion for the sport he says and there was no monetary gain to be made. The fan following and the presence of the spectators was all they played for.
Amongst his compatriots, he has huge respect for Mr. Tarun Mukhia (Gyaldung) and Mr. Gyatshola one of the best goalkeepers we have ever had.
Gurung recalls his love for his old club Darjeeling Dynamo and expressed his fondness for East Bengal and ever favorite Barcelona. Spain is always been his World Cup team. His he is a big fan of Shyam Thapa alongside Habib and International star Messi and Maradona.
He hung his boots in 1985 and has not played much since then due to an injury he has been carrying since. Though he has always remained in touch with the Darjeeling Football and has supported the game as a Referee in many of the tournaments in the 90´s and early 2000.
