In the 14th match of the ongoing Desun Siliguri Premier League UKFC and Royal FC played 1-1 draw to share a point each at Ila Pal school ground Sukna.
The first half of the match witnessed an improved Kurseong side with better possession and constant attack keeping Royal defenders at bay. Royal on the other hand also had few opportunities to take the lead but each time they failed to hit their target.
UKFC got an early lead in the 7th minute through Lakpa Tamang. UKFC earned a free kick just outside the box. Tamang stepped into the shot and made it home for the Kurseong side.
2nd half saw Royal FC more in control over the game which got finally paid off in the 54th minute.Tshering Gurung of UKFC was booked by the referee for bringing down Karan Rai inside the box. Penalty was awarded to Royal FC, Karan Rai stepped in to take the shot and calmly slotted it home.
Royal FC were more in control over the game as the later half progressed. they almost took the lead in the 67th minute when Timo received the ball just outside the box and made a quick pass towards Indrajeet Chettri who went in for that final shot that landed just above the bar. Chettri once again missed a golden opportunity to give his team the lead when Karan Rai fitted a brilliant cross in the 75th minute. Unmarked Chettri took the shot that landed wide off the right post.
